ABOUT ME

Giovanni Antico Gagliardini born in Italy in 1986,

Born and raised in Italy in a family of 5, he moved 15 times in different cities: Milan, Bologna, Naple, Turin… Giovanni was nurtured by a loving mother and taught strong values by his father. His patents always used to inspire him to travel and become independent at a young age.

IN HIGH school, he pursued scientific studies but always loved to study art, latin and architecture; building a strong knowledge of Italian culture.

Giovanni moved to Turin to attend college and study architecture in 2006. He won a schoolarship and HE moved to Barcelona that was the “capital of architecture innovation” in those years. He graduated with a Master Degree in housing project and urbanism IN 2011 in Turin, Italy.

But one of his dream was to become an interior designer and produce his own drawings. Committed to follow this heart and passion, he moved to Buenos Aires and he started working for Anres Remy Architects in luxury residential houses and Interior Design. After 2 years he wanted to improve his design skills in a minimal point of view, that’s why in 2013 he decided to move to Japan, in Tokyo.

This was another significant step of his career. He worked for Sou Fujimoto Architects in Tokyo, and he understood a new approach to architecture, which consisted the new and different uses of materials, the composition of spaces, the gardens and the wonderful landscapes.

During this experience his sensibility of interior design showed great improvement.

On May 2014, he moved to USA in California and he started working with Horst Architects in residential luxury houses. Another different culture improved his technical skills. He was involved in every phase of the projects, spending time drawing in the office learning day by day the feet and inches system. After a “concrete background” he worked with the Californian architecture: steel, wood and big glass panels to open the houses to the amazing view of the ocean.

IN 2016, Giovanni founded his office specializing in high-end residential Design, and Wall-Art-Painting.

His studio avoids dogmatic structures, instead favoring a careful consideration of light, material, and detail that is specific to the nature of each project. The end products are functional, beautiful, innovative, and sustainable spaces that elegantly integrate into their surroundings.

The interior design pieces born from many drawing and material research mixed into a logic concept which try to translate the comfort in something useful for people.

The big deal for Giovanni is studying the client, and “translate” his character to a project. Any person is more familiar to some materials, to some colours and and different architectural solution.

Gyo thinks: “For sure people follow the fashion.. but, we are in a world where people wants something to make the difference from the others.. not like a dress or a pair of shoes, but I want my house like something beautiful which represent at the same time my personality. I that way Architecture becomes something unique”

My name is Giovanni Antico but everybody call me “Gyo”.
